Dhaka--(UNB) – Green Herald International School defeated Hammadia High School by six wickets in a pre-quarter match of the National School Cricket tournament at the Dhanmondi Club ground yesterday (Monday). Sent into bat first, Hammadia High School scored 180 for 5 in the stipulated 30 overs. Robin made 50 runs off 47 balls hitting six fours and two sixes, Sohel (sr) scored 47 off 16 balls, including five boundaries, while Asabuddin 34 runs in 31 balls with three fours and a six. Mohammad Hossain captured two wickets giving away 34 runs. Replying to the moderate total, Green Herald School reached their target making 85 runs for the loss of four wickets in 27.4 overs with opener S Rozario playing an anchor role contributing 62 runs off 57 deliveries featuring five fours and five sixes. One down Sajid Khan made 35 off 48 deliveries with two fours and a six, Faisal made 27 off 16 balls while Oman scored 35 off 26 balls. In the day’s another BKSP recorded a massive 161-runs victory over Naila Memerial at the Uttara Friends Club ground. Brief score : BKSP – 279 for 4 in 35 overs. Dhiman 91, Maruf 80, Ashique 48, extras 36, Tanveer 2/48. Naila Memorial – 119 all out in 32.5 overs. Russel 27, Haider 21, Ali 20, Extras 26, Ashique 3/26, Tanveer 2/6 and Nazmul 2/29. At the PIG ground, New Model School beat Motijheel Colony High School by nine wickets. Brief Score: Motijheel Colony School - 77 all out in 17. 3 overs.
